Our dedicated coaches provide skaters with quality training in a fun and inclusive environment. Whether on or off the ice our coaches are there to support and develop skaters to help them reach their goals

Josh McRae, SKATING DIRECTOR & CHOREOGRAPHER
MCRAE.JOSHUA@GMAIL.COMJosh McRae has over 12 years of coaching experience and has worked with national and internatinal competitors across western Canada and Europe. As an amatuer skater, he competed at the Canadian National level in Freeskate and Ice Dance with his highest placement being 6th. In 2005, Josh joined Disney on Ice and toured throughout North America, Europe and Asia as a step-out and understudy skater. Josh is currently living in Vancouver and is the Skating Director and Choreographer at Killarney Skating Club.

Francesca Tse, CANSKATE & CANPOWER COORDINATOR
KCSFCCANSKATE@GMAIL.COMFrancesca skated competitively in Ladies FreeSkate for a number of years at regional and provincial competitions before retiring her figure skating career to focus on school. While being a full-time student, she coached part time for figure skating and hockey programs like Hockey Development, CanSkate, and Junior Enrichment Academy. She entered the workforce as a civil servant after graduating from UBC with a Bachelor's Degree with honours and has committed to coaching full time since. She is currently the CanSkate and CanPower Director at KCFSC and a Head Instructor with the City of Vancouver. Francesca has had a seamless transition from being an athlete to coaching. With experiences at the international level in competitive cheerleading, she combines her athletic experiences with an interdisciplinary approach to coaching. She is excited to share her love for quality skating skills with all of her skaters. She aims to provide the opportunity for everyone to learn to figure skate regardless of ability and age.

Lianna Yung, COMPETITIVE COACH
Lianna has been coaching since 2006 and is a NCCP level 3 National coach. She also is a certified power skating, free skate, dance skills interpretive and off-ice coach. Lianna has obtained many skating credentials throughout her skating career including: Junior Freeskate, Gold Free Skate, Gold Skills, Jr. Silver Dance, Silver Interpretative. Lianna is an accomplished coach that has had skaters compete and test and many levels from beginner to the Junior Grand Prix level. She holds current first aid and CPR certifications.

Sarah Metcalfe, COMPETITIVE COACH
Sarah has been coaching since 2006 and is a NCCP level 3 National certified coach. Additionally, she is certified in Power Skating and coaches Free Skate, Dance Skills, Interpretive and Off-ice. As a 4-time National Competitor herself, Sarah is not a stranger to high-level competition and has coached provincial, national and international competitors. She has had skaters pass Senior Free Skate, Gold Free Skate, Gold Skills and Senior Bronze Dances. Sarah also holds current First Aid and CPR certifications.

Isabella Metcalfe, COMPETITIVE & CANSKATE COACH
Isabella Metcalfe has been coaching since 2013 and has worked with skaters up to the Provincial level. As a competitor, she skated up to the Jr.Silver level, now known as Star 8. Isabella has completed her Gold Skating Skills and Junior Silver Dances. Outside of skating, Isabella holds a Diploma in Recreation Studies and is near completion of her Degree in Recreation Management. Her specialized training includes, Via Sport - All Youth Matter Training and High-Five Principles of Healthy Childhood Development Training.

Samantha Westhaver, COMPETITIVE & CANSKATE COACH
Sam has been coaching since 2008 and is a NCCP Level 2 certified Regional coach, currently working towards Provincial level. Sam has completed her Junior Free Skate, Gold Free Skate, Gold Competitive Skills, Gold Dance, Gold Interpretive and coaches Free Skate, Dance Skills, Interpretive and Off-ice. Sam holds current First Aid and CPR certifications.

Julie Zhu, COMPETITIVE, CANSKATE COACH & REGISTRAR
Julie Zhu was formerly a coach at Champs International, one of the major figure skating training centres in Canada, for the first 9 years of her career (since 2013). She gratefully received mentorship and worked closely with many high-performance coaches such as Joanne McLeod, Megumu Seki, and Neil Wilson. Julie is now a part of the coaching staff at Killarney, and is excited to bring to the club what she has learned through her experiences. As a skater, Julie competed up to Novice Women and has completed her Gold Freeskate, Gold Skating Skills, and Partial Gold Ice Dance tests. Julie has graduated with a UBC Bachelor of Science and is pursuing a second degree in Education. She also trains in powerlifting and won in her weight class at the 2022 BCPA Summer Open Classic Powerlifting Championships.

Zoe Crockart, COMPETITIVE & CANSKATE COACH
Zoey Crockart has been coaching since 2018 and is currently working towards her Provincial Coach Certification. Zoey has experience coaching skaters at all levels in all disciplines of skating. As a past skater, Zoey achieved her Gold Feet in all 4 disiplines including ice dance, skills, free skate and interpretive (now referred to as artistic). Outside of skating, Zoey holds a 3-year advanced diploma in Rural Pre-Medicine and is a current PharmD student at the University of British Columbia. She is very excited to join the Killarney Skating Club!

Jolene Lambley, COMPETITIVE & CANSKATE COACH
Jolene Lambley has been part of the skating community since she was just a toddler and has gained valuable knowledge through her experience and dedication to the sport. Jolene is a Nationally Trained Coach that has over 17 years Coaching Experience, with 10 years as Canskate Coordinator, and then Coaching Director at a local Vancouver Club. In addition, she is a Certified CanPower Skate Coach and has been involved in all disciplines of Skate Canada programming (including Synchronized Skating, and Special Olympics.) As a skater, Jolene achieved Gold Feet in all 4 disciplines. Outside the rink, Jolene enjoys taking her dogs on adventures, and using putting her Photography Degree to good use.

Victoria Sweeney, CANSKATE COACH
Victoria Sweeney has been coaching since 2016 and is currently working on completing her Regional Coach Certification. Victoria has had the pleasure of working with skaters from all different skill and age ranges to help bring the fun of skating to everyone on the ice. She has achieved her Senior Silver Skills, Junior Bronze Ice Dance, and Senior Bronze FreeSkate. Victoria also works at the City of Vancouver as a Head Instructor and a Head Skating Coordinator. Through the Learn to Skate program, she has experience in teaching skating at the recreational level to preschoolers, children, youth, and adults. She is also trained as an inclusive adapted skating instructor for children with learning difficulties. Outside of skating, she has completed a diploma in Kinesiology and will be pursuing a degree in Education. When she is not in the rink, Victoria enjoys spending time with her loved ones and exploring different recipes to enjoy..
